SUMMARY:The best of strong typing in PHP
DESCRIPTION:Hi all\,\n\nThis years autumn edition will be as interesting as
always with a subject all PHP coders should be interested in!\nAgain we a
re hosted by our long-term partner [Senet](https://www.senet.nl/). Food (p
izza\, vegan as well) and drinks will be provided by our host as you are u
sed to.\n\n\\-\\-\\-\\-\\-\n\n**The lecture:**\nStrong typing is spreading
across PHP: PHP 8 has added DNF\, intersection and union types. While typ
ing goes against the initial choices of type juggling in PHP\, it also bri
ngs more code consistency\, auto-validation features and some strange puzz
les with dependencies.\nTyping lends a helping hand to quality tools\, mak
es code validation work harder and earlier\, and promotes great coding pat
terns like the null object. Indeed\, it is a brave new tool\, great for la
rge projects and easy to use tactically.\n\n\\-\\-\\-\\-\\-\n\n**About Dam
ien Seguy:**\nDamien Seguy is CTO at [Exakat Ltd.](https://www.exakat.io/)
\, a company specialized in PHP code quality solutions for the industry. H
e leads the development of the Exakat PHP static analysis engine\, that au
