SUMMARY:PHP Oxford meetup
DESCRIPTION:This month we are excited to be joined by Mark Harrison who wil
l be sharing "getting started with Docker and docker-compose for PHP devel
opment".\n\n"Most people have heard of Docker\, but there are different wa
ys to use it\, and how you might use it in production can be very differen
t to how you might use it for development. Mark's going to cover some diff
erent approaches\, and share his experience (as a CTO) of what has worked
for him."\n\nMark Harrison first programmed (in BASIC) 1979\, and first wr
ote code in "an AI Language" for ICL in 1991\, as part of a summer job\, w
hile studying Mathematics and Computation and Oxford (a long while before
Oxford had a thing called "Computer Science.") He's seen waves of technolo
gies come and (mostly) go. He's now "the part time CTO" for two different
startups\, and his consultancy clients include organisations as diverse as
The Cabinet Office and software written by him and teams he has led is ru
n by several major banks and a few hedge funds.\n\nInteresting in speaking
?\n\nIf you'd like to present or even do a lightning talk (5-20 minutes) a
 t a future event\, please get in touch!\n\nRefreshments & sponsors\n\nIn t
he olden days\, we'd have a physical meet-up where the venue and refreshme
nts (drinks and snacks) would be provided courtesy of our sponsors. Despit
e not being able to take full advantage of their generosity\, we continue
to thank Humand Talent Solutions (https://humand.co.uk/)\, Invitial (https
://www.invitial.com/) for their support\, and to Oxford Centre for Innovat
ion (https://www.ocfi.co.uk/) for use of the venue (when we can/could).\n\
nCode of Conduct\n\nPlease note that this meet-up is covered by our code o
 f conduct (https://github.com/phpoxford/code-of-conduct/blob/master/code-o
f-conduct.md). We request that all attendees abide by the code of conduct
 at all times. Thank you!\n\nhttps://www.larachat.co/meetings/php-oxford-me
