SUMMARY:PHP Oxford meetup
DESCRIPTION:This month is another video meet-up. We will be joined by Raj S
akthivel - a Senior Software Engineer at Tesco - who will be giving his ta
lk "Are you a modern software engineer?".\n\n"In a modern world with so ma
ny different ways to build web applications how do we keep up with the lat
est trend\, let alone know which one should we use?\n\nWith all these choi
ces\, it can be easy to start off on the wrong foot or to be put off from
exploring other options besides what we are used to working with.\n\nIn th
is talk I want to explore the best practices we have when building the fou
ndations of our projects.\n\nI’m not looking to make you a Coding Ninja\
, but having an understanding of each of these\, along with the benefits e
ach can bring\, can help you and your team making the right decisions for
the project you are creating and ensure a smoother project lifecycle."\n\n
If you'd like to present a lightning talk (5-20 minutes)\, please get in t
 ouch!\n\nRefreshments & sponsors\n\nIn the olden days\, we'd have a physic
al meet-up and Refreshments (drinks and snacks) would be provided courtesy
of our sponsors Haybrook IT (https://haybrook.co.uk/). Despite not being
able to take advantage of their generosity\, we continue to thank Haybrook
and our other sponsors Invitial (https://www.invitial.com/) for their sup
port\, and to OCFI for use of the venue.\n\nCode of Conduct\n\nPlease note
that this meet-up is covered by our code of conduct (https://github.com/p
 hpoxford/code-of-conduct/blob/master/code-of-conduct.md). We request that
all attendees abide by the code of conduct at all times. Thank you!\n\nhtt
